Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in the Bayview and throughout San Francisco.
Our mission is to build a community that is empowered, clean, safe and healthy. We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, economic and housing security.
Today, BVHPF's nearly 200 employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year. Our programs include:
• Mental health counseling for youth and adults
• School-based mental health services
• Substance abuse counseling and methadone treatment
• Family transitional and supportive housing
• Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs
• Case management services at several homeless and housing programs
• Bayview SAFE Navigation Center
Position Overview:
Under supervision, clinician performs a broad range of duties as a provider for adults, older adults and their families. Duties include diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, individual psychotherapy, collateral consultation/collaboration and psychoeducation. This non-exempt position reports to the Clinical Supervisor, as designated by the Director of Mental Health Services.?
Responsibilities:
- Receives referrals from the clinical supervisor and handles initial contact with clients.
- Expected to maintain a productivity level of at least 60%/280 minutes per day of direct client services.
- On a selective basis, arranges for additional evaluations, including medical, neurological, psychological, educational, speech and language.
- Performs case management and crisis intervention when needed; maintains complete and accurate progress notes (into computerized system (Avatar); bills and documents all contacts with clients; make home visits when appropriate.
- Actively participates in program's clinical case conferences; participates in continuing education training.
- Collaborates and consults with collateral sources. Advocates for clients' needs when necessary.
- Performs related duties as assigned or required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field.
- Requires at least two-years clinical experience working in mental health setting for the chronically mentally ill.
- Requires eligibility to practice clinical treatment in the State of California licensed or license eligible status.
- Must be computer literate.
- Experience working with AVATAR and MediCal billing system a plus.
- Must be licensed or license eligible for one of the following:
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC),
- Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT),
- Associate Social Worker (ASW),
- Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or equivalent.
- Mental Health Clinicians are expected to maintain a productivity level of at least 60%/288 minutes per day of direct client services.
Additional Requirements:
- Regular and reliable job attendance.
- Valid California's Driver's License (if duties require).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to meet federal, state and local standards following a comprehensive background screening and LiveScan Screening (if duties require).
- Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships.
- Independent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions.
- In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Compensation and Bonus Package:
